Questions buyers ask us.

Product and deployment

Does 1stProtect replace my EDR?

Yes, in stages. It starts beside your current EDR and adds prevention at the moment of action. Once it’s proven on your devices, you retire your EDR and the overlapping tools.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Every prevention decision is made on the device, so protection continues on disconnected and air-gapped machines. The AI investigator needs a connection today.

Does it need a kernel driver?

No. The agent runs in user mode, so there’s no kernel driver to approve, to conflict with your EDR or to crash the machine.

Which systems are supported?

Windows 10 and 11, and Windows Server 2016 or later, 64-bit. macOS and Linux are on the roadmap.

How long does installation take?

Under 10 minutes per device, with no reboot. The installer adds Microsoft Defender exclusions for you.

Does it run in Safe Mode?

Yes. The agent supports Windows Safe Mode with Networking, mainly to keep protecting itself against tampering.

AI agents, trials and partners

How is it different from AI agent controls in the big EDR platforms?

They start by discovering agents and deciding which may run. 1stProtect judges each action an agent takes, registered or not, on the device.

Does it read our prompts?

No. Decisions use process lineage and normalised actions, not the content of prompts.

What does the free trial include?

Up to 10 devices for 30 days, starting in audit mode, with a report of everything it would have blocked. We review every request and reply by email.

Can I buy through my MSP or reseller?

Yes. Most customers buy through a partner. In Japan, 1stProtect is distributed by Daiwabo Information System.

Where is my data stored?

In the hosting region you choose when your tenant is created: the United States, Europe, Asia or the Middle East. See the trust centre.

How much does it cost?

Plans start at $30 per device per year. The price depends on the bundle, device type, number of devices and term. See plans.

Does it protect the EDR I already run?

Yes. It runs beside your EDR and blocks common ways attackers try to switch security tools off, such as loading vulnerable drivers and unhooking.

Will another agent slow our devices down?

It’s one user-mode agent, and its coverage keeps growing. Teams use it to retire separate tools, so devices end up running fewer security agents, not more. Measured CPU and memory figures aren’t published yet.
